Partner Nicholas V. Chen hosted the second annual “International Law Symposium” at the 2009 National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention in Boston.
The half-day symposium started with a luncheon keynoted by Paul Lee and moderated by Grace Parke Fremlin. The three afternoon panels were:
- “Everything You Wanted to Know About International Arbitration but Were Afraid to Ask: A Primer for the Non-Specialist”
- “The Risks Facing ‘Foreign Parties’ in the Courts of the Asia-Pacific Jurisdictions”
- “Inside the Boardroom: Governance Issues Facing Corporate Boards in Asia During Troubled Times”
The symposium ended with a cocktail reception and off-site dinner.
The International Law Committee also hosted an interactive workshop during the main NAPABA convention entitled: “Masters Class: Business Development Best Practices.” Nick moderated the event which included panels and break-out sessions.
